Official GrabzIt MCP server for AI web scraping, screenshots, and PDF/DOCX generation.
Overview
Official GrabzIt MCP server that lets an AI assistant capture website screenshots, scrape rendered HTML, and convert URLs or HTML into images, PDF and DOCX.
- What you can do
- Capture screenshots of a URL and return them as images the assistant can view, with full-page, delay, CSS cropping and element stripping options. Scrape fully rendered HTML from a URL after JavaScript execution, with custom rendering delays. Convert a URL or a raw HTML string into an image, PDF or DOCX, with page orientation, paper size, cropping and stripping options.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to look at a live web page, pull its rendered HTML, or turn a page or HTML snippet into a screenshot, PDF or DOCX without leaving the chat client.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio, typically launched with npx from the npm package, so Node.js is needed. Requires a GrabzIt account and the GRABZIT_APP_KEY and GRABZIT_APP_SECRET environment variables. Network access to the GrabzIt API is required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open GrabzIt in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
GrabzIt MCP Server
The official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for GrabzIt. This server allows AI assistants (like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf) to dynamically capture website screenshots, generate PDF and DOCX documents, and scrape web data directly within your AI environment.
🚀 Quick Start
This server is published on npm and can be executed instantly without installation using npx.
You will need a GrabzIt Application Key and Secret, which you can get by creating an account at GrabzIt.
Configuration
Add the following configuration to your MCP-compatible client (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json). Replace <YOUR_APP_KEY> and <YOUR_APP_SECRET> with your actual GrabzIt credentials.
🛠️ Environment Variables
The server requires the following environment variables to authenticate with the GrabzIt API:
GRABZIT_APP_KEY- Your GrabzIt Application Key.GRABZIT_APP_SECRET- Your GrabzIt Application Secret.
