Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only MCP server that lets an assistant search the public Agent Connectors directory of MCP servers and AI agent connectors.

What you can do
  • Search directory listings by query text and optional category slug, returning up to 25 matches
  • Fetch a single listing by slug, including description, category, status, publisher class, connect snippets, sourced facts and link-check results
  • List categories with the number of listings in each
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to look up MCP servers or agent connectors by keyword or category and read their directory details before deciding what to connect. It only reports catalogue records and does not run, install or test the servers it describes.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at agentconnectors.dev over Streamable HTTP with no authentication, or a local clone of the repository run with Node.js 22 or newer (not published to npm). The local mode can optionally serve HTTP on 127.0.0.1:8791, with PORT and AGENT_CONNECTORS_API as optional settings. Network access to the catalogue JSON is needed.
Before you install
Read-only: it does not run, install or test the servers it lists, so listing details and link-check results should be verified before relying on them. The local mode fetches the catalogue from a remote URL, and AGENT_CONNECTORS_API can redirect that fetch to another tools.json URL.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Agent Connectors in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.JaniJegoroff%2Fagent-connectors-mcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

What it does

The tools read https://agentconnectors.dev/api/tools.json?limit=all and follow next if the response is paged. They return directory records. They do not run, install, or test the servers in those records.

  • search_tools — match a query, with an optional category slug, against listing name, slug, and description.
  • get_tool — one listing by slug.
  • list_categories — category name, slug, and listing count, counted from the catalogue response.

Example query for search_tools:

json
{ "query": "web search", "category": "search" }

Remote endpoint

https://agentconnectors.dev/mcp serves this server over Streamable HTTP. No authentication is required.

Install

This repository is not published to npm. Clone it, install dependencies, and point your client at the clone. Requires Node.js 22 or newer.

bash
git clone https://github.com/JaniJegoroff/agent-connectors-mcp.gitcd agent-connectors-mcpnpm install

The server speaks MCP over stdin and stdout:

bash
node --experimental-strip-types src/index.ts

Replace /absolute/path/to/agent-connectors-mcp with the absolute path of your clone. Run npm install in that directory first.

Claude Desktop

Add this to claude_desktop_config.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "agent-connectors": {      "command": "node",      "args": ["--experimental-strip-types", "src/index.ts"],      "cwd": "/absolute/path/to/agent-connectors-mcp"    }  }}

Cursor

Project file .cursor/mcp.json, or the global Cursor MCP settings:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "agent-connectors": {      "command": "node",      "args": ["--experimental-strip-types", "src/index.ts"],      "cwd": "/absolute/path/to/agent-connectors-mcp"    }  }}

VS Code

Project file .vscode/mcp.json. cwd is the clone root:

json
{  "servers": {    "agent-connectors": {      "type": "stdio",      "command": "node",      "args": ["--experimental-strip-types", "src/index.ts"],      "cwd": "${workspaceFolder}"    }  }}

Optional streamable HTTP, bound to 127.0.0.1:8791:

bash
node --experimental-strip-types src/index.ts --http

The HTTP endpoint is http://127.0.0.1:8791/mcp. Set PORT to use another port. Set AGENT_CONNECTORS_API to point the catalogue fetch at another tools.json URL.

Docker

Glama builds this image and introspects the server over stdio.

bash
docker build -t agent-connectors-mcp .docker run -i --rm agent-connectors-mcp

The image is node:22-slim. It installs production dependencies with npm ci --omit=dev, copies src, and starts stdio mode with node --experimental-strip-types src/index.ts.

Tools

3

search_tools

Search the Agent Connectors directory. Returns matching listings from the public catalogue. At most 25 matches. This does not run or test those servers.

Parameterslimitqueryrequiredcategory

get_tool

Fetch one Agent Connectors listing by slug. Returns the same object as /api/tools/{slug}.json: name, description, category, collection, status, publisher class (vendor, reference, community, or unknown), connect snippets per client, sourced facts with their sources, link-check results and dates, and the source URLs. A field the catalogue does not have is omitted. This does not run or test that server.

Parametersslugrequired

list_categories

List Agent Connectors categories and how many listings each one has.

Takes no parameters.

Score

100% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
