A remote MCP server that summarizes YouTube videos, fetches transcripts, lists new channel videos, and formats JSON, paid per call via x402 in USDC on Base.
What you can do
Summarize a YouTube video into text in over 100 output languages, or fetch its raw transcript without a model run, with uncaptioned videos returning an error and not being charged. List new videos on a channel since a cursor for stateless channel monitoring. Validate raw JSON and return it pretty-printed or minified, with optional key sorting and a 1 MB input cap.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs quick summaries or transcripts of YouTube videos without pulling full transcripts into its own context, or wants to poll a channel for new uploads without accounts or webhooks. The JSON formatter is a small utility alongside these.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at mcp.sumvid.app over streamable HTTP; no account or API key is needed. Each paid call is settled per call via x402 in USDC on Base, so a wallet or payment-capable client is needed for the YouTube tools.
Before you install
The YouTube tools cost money per call in USDC on Base, so spending depends on how often the assistant calls them; the JSON formatter is not described as charged. Video URLs and channel identifiers are sent to a third-party service. No authentication is declared, so payment authorization rests on the x402 flow.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.JonTelep%2Fsummarize-vid/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Summarize a YouTube video with Claude and return the summary text, in any of 100+ output languages (`language` param, BCP-47). Pay-per-call via x402 (USDC on Base) — no account or API key. Cheaper than pulling the full transcript into your own context. A bad URL or a video without captions returns an error and is not charged. New videos up to 60 minutes; longer ones (or ones whose length can't be determined) return an error and are not charged.

get_youtube_transcript
Fetch the raw transcript text of a YouTube video (no model run — the cheaper SKU), in any of 100+ languages (`language` param, BCP-47). Pay-per-call via x402 (USDC on Base), no account. A video without captions returns an error and is not charged.

list_new_channel_videos
New videos on a YouTube channel since your last poll — stateless channel monitoring, no accounts or webhooks. Pass a channel URL, @handle, or channel id, plus an optional cursor (`since_video_id` or `since`, an ISO 8601 timezone-aware timestamp) from your last call. Returns new video ids/titles/publish times, newest first, plus `newest_video_id` to use as your next cursor. Pay-per-call via x402 (USDC on Base), no account or API key. An unresolvable channel or a naive `since` timestamp returns an error and is not charged.

format_json
Validate raw JSON and return it pretty-printed or minified. `pretty` (default true) uses two-space indentation; false minifies. `sort_keys` (default false) sorts object keys alphabetically and leaves array order alone. Input is capped at 1 MB. Invalid JSON raises with the line and column and is not charged. Pay-per-call via x402 (USDC on Base), no account or API key.
