Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant search an artist-owned sync licensing catalog, audition tracks, see live license prices, and build a quote.

What it does
This server exposes the No License Nearby catalog of 880+ artist-owned tracks to an assistant. Tools cover searching by title, genre, mood, energy and musical key, fetching details for one track, getting an audition preview link, listing live license tiers for social media, TV and streaming, and film, quoting one or more tracks with the multi-track discount, and producing a pre-filled license checkout page. Prices are read live from the catalog rather than hardcoded.
When to use it
Useful when a video, editing or content workflow needs cleared music: finding tracks that fit a mood or length, checking what a license would cost, and preparing a quote or license page for a buyer. It is a read-only browsing and quoting aid, not a purchasing tool.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio, installed from PyPI as nolicense-nearby-mcp or run with uvx, so Python and the package runner are needed. No API key or account is required. Network access to the public catalog is needed; the optional NOLICENSE_API_BASE variable overrides the default catalog address.
Before you install
All tools are read-only and the server never submits license requests or takes payment; the actual purchase happens on the vendor's website, where rights activate after payment. It sends catalog queries to the vendor's public endpoint, and the optional NOLICENSE_API_BASE setting can redirect that traffic to another host.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open No License Nearby in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
