When to use it
For teams or solo developers who want an AI assistant to follow a structured wave process with a product owner deciding scope and acceptance, an orchestrator proposing and critiquing, and separate department subagents. Useful for starting a new repo or adopting an existing codebase into that process.
Requirements
Runs locally as a stdio server via uvx (uv must be installed); can also be installed as a Claude Code plugin. Configured in the client's mcpServers with command uvx and argument shipfast-mcp; version pinning is supported. No accounts, keys or environment variables are declared.
Before you install
The tools write files into the project: scaffolding creates many files, and upgrade merges changes, leaving conflict-marked copies under .shipfast/pending for review. Scaffolding does not overwrite existing files and the dry run should be used first. Wave tables, backlog and decision log are preserved during upgrades.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Shipfast Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
