Twitter/X tools for AI agents — read timelines, post tweets, search, and engage
Overview
Local MCP server that lets an AI agent read, post, and engage on Twitter/X, with optional paid AI drafting and analytics tools.
- What you can do
- Read profiles, timelines, mentions, single tweets and recent search results
- Post tweets, reply to tweets, like, retweet and follow users
- AI-assisted drafting of replies, tweets and threads, plus opportunity finding, account analysis and engagement analytics (paid tier)
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to work directly in a Twitter/X account: monitoring mentions and timelines, drafting and publishing posts, or engaging with other users from a chat session.
- Requirements
- Runs locally as a Python package installed with pip. Needs a Twitter OAuth 2.0 access token in TWITTER_ACCESS_TOKEN; TWITTER_REFRESH_TOKEN and TWITTER_CLIENT_ID enable automatic token renewal. The AI drafting and analytics tools additionally need a ShipPost API key in SHIPPOST_API_KEY. Network access to Twitter/X and ShipPost is required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Shippost Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
