Hash text with SHA-256, SHA-512 or SHA3-256, and verify a digest.
Overview
A local MCP server that lets an assistant hash UTF-8 text with SHA-256, SHA-512 or SHA3-256 and verify a digest in constant time.
- What you can do
- Hash UTF-8 text with SHA-256, SHA-512 or SHA3-256
- Check text against an expected digest using constant-time comparison
- When to use it
- Useful when you need a quick checksum or integrity check of a short piece of text, or want to confirm that text matches a known digest without leaving the chat.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local stdio process, typically launched with npx from the npm package proofmark-hash, so Node.js and network access for the first package download are needed. No accounts, API keys or environment variables are declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Proofmark Hash in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

proofmark-hash
A small MCP server that hashes text with SHA-256, SHA-512 or SHA3-256 and verifies digests in constant time.
mcp-name: io.github.SamuelDharshi/proofmark-hash
Tools:
hash_text: hash UTF-8 text.verify_hash: check text against an expected digest.
Pure computation: it reads no files, opens no network connections and stores nothing.
Part of Proofmark, the MCP trust gate. Check this server's live trust status at https://proofmark-web.vercel.app/check?server=io.github.SamuelDharshi/proofmark-hash

40% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
