Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that lets an assistant drive Adobe Illustrator and After Effects and move artwork between them as editable shape layers.

What you can do
Control Adobe Illustrator and After Effects from the assistant, grouped by application through the ai and ae tool families and a symbiosis family for cross-application work, plus a dev family. Move artwork between the two applications as editable shape layers. Run ExtendScript inside the applications through the ai_run_script and ae_run_script tools, which can be removed by setting MOGRAPH_ALLOW_RAW_SCRIPT to 0. Limit which tool families are exposed with MOGRAPH_TOOLS to keep the tool list smaller.
When to use it
Useful when you work in Illustrator or After Effects and want an assistant to operate them directly, or to hand artwork from one application to the other as editable shape layers rather than flattened files.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the mograph-mcp PyPI package over stdio, and is desktop only. Adobe Illustrator and After Effects must be installed. The After Effects CEP panel connects to a local WebSocket bridge whose port is set by MOGRAPH_WS_PORT and must match the port the panel was installed with. Optional MOGRAPH_TOOLS and MOGRAPH_ALLOW_RAW_SCRIPT variables configure exposed tool families and script tools.
Before you install
The ai_run_script and ae_run_script tools evaluate arbitrary ExtendScript inside Illustrator and After Effects; they are enabled unless MOGRAPH_ALLOW_RAW_SCRIPT is set to 0, so treat them as powerful and consider disabling them. The server can change artwork in open documents, so review actions before they run. The WebSocket bridge port must match the installed panel.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
