A local AI career-coaching server that turns job-market data into a gap analysis, staged roadmap, check-in tasks and an application funnel.

Requirements
Runs locally over stdio as the PyPI package career-kit, installed with pipx or run via uvx; needs a Python environment and registration as a local MCP server in the chosen client. No authentication is declared. Optional environment variables CAREER_KIT_DATA_DIR and CAREER_KIT_ASSETS_DIR override the default data and output directories. Scraping needs network access.
Before you install
It reads resumes and personal career details, which are stored locally under the data directory and output folder; check that this suits your privacy needs. It scrapes public job and interview pages, so respect source-site terms and rate limits. It offers no referral, job guarantee or employment promise. Task check-ins and roadmap changes write to the local database.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Career Kit in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

安装 Career Kit 并在 Agent 中注册 MCP 服务后，对话直接说「使用 Career Kit」即可启动。斜杠命令 /career-kit 为 Claude Code / opencode 专属，且仅当会话在源码仓库目录内打开时可用；其余 Agent（含 ChatGPT 桌面客户端、豆包工作）用对话启动即可。
