MCP server for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration (Avanan) email security.
Overview
MCP server for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration (Avanan) that lets an assistant retrieve and investigate email security events, act on threats, and run
- What you can do
- Retrieve and investigate security events, with an interactive read-only event card in MCP Apps hosts such as Claude Desktop and web. Take action on threats, such as quarantine and release. Manage email exceptions and allowlists. Search across email security data. Support multi-tenant MSP operations across an email security environment.
- When to use it
- Use it when you want an AI assistant to work inside a Check Point Avanan / Harmony Email & Collaboration tenant: triaging security events, investigating threats, searching email security data, or managing exceptions and allowlists, including across multiple tenants for MSP work.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process, installed from npm or the container image. Needs Avanan / Harmony Email OAuth2 credentials: a client ID and client secret, supplied by environment variable or, in gateway mode, per-request headers. An optional region setting (us, eu, au, in) is auto-detected from the token when omitted. HTTP mode additionally requires a service-to-service HMAC secret.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Avanan in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
Avanan (Check Point) MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Check Point Avanan (Harmony Email & Collaboration). Enables AI assistants to manage security events, investigate threats, and handle multi-tenant MSP operations across your email security environment.
This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects Claude (or any MCP-compatible AI) to your Check Point Avanan environment.
Part of the MSP Claude Plugins ecosystem — a growing suite of AI integrations for the MSP stack. Built by MSPs, for MSPs.
Features
- Interactive Security Event Card (MCP Apps):
hec_get_eventrenders as a read-only interactive card in MCP Apps hosts (Claude Desktop/web) showing severity, state, platform, and remediation status; neutral by default, brandable viawindow.__BRAND__injection orMCP_BRAND_*env vars; plain-JSON behavior is unchanged in other hosts
Installation
Configuration
Copy .env.example and set the variables below. Leave CONDUIT_S2S_SECRET empty in that file.
/health stays unauthenticated. The stdio transport does not use CONDUIT_S2S_SECRET.
HTTP authentication
With MCP_TRANSPORT=http and a real CONDUIT_S2S_SECRET, every /mcp request must include X-Gateway-S2S. The header value is t=<unix seconds>,v1=<hex>, where the hex is HMAC-SHA256 of the literal string t=<unix seconds> keyed with CONDUIT_S2S_SECRET (64 lowercase hex characters). The timestamp must be within 300 seconds of the server clock. A missing or invalid header returns HTTP 401 before vendor credentials are read.
In AUTH_MODE=gateway (the image and Compose default), /mcp also requires X-Checkpoint-Client-Id and X-Checkpoint-Client-Secret. Those headers are the only credential source for that request. A request missing either one returns 401 and does not fall back to CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_ID / CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_SECRET in the process environment.
Single-tenant HTTP (AUTH_MODE=env) still requires a valid X-Gateway-S2S header, then uses CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_ID and CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_SECRET when the request does not carry those headers.
Usage
Running with Claude Desktop
Add to your Claude Desktop claude_desktop_config.json:
Running with Claude Code (CLI)
Docker
The image listens on 0.0.0.0 inside the container (MCP_HTTP_HOST) and defaults to AUTH_MODE=gateway. Publish the port on loopback and pass a real S2S secret. In gateway mode, Checkpoint credentials arrive on each request as headers; they are not read from the environment.
Compose refuses to start when CONDUIT_S2S_SECRET is unset, sets AUTH_MODE=gateway, does not inject CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_ID or CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_SECRET, and publishes 127.0.0.1:8080:8080:
Single-tenant HTTP (AUTH_MODE=env) still requires the S2S secret, then uses CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_ID and CHECKPOINT_CLIENT_SECRET. Keep that off the gateway Compose service:
Local HTTP without a secret is development-only. It binds 127.0.0.1 even when MCP_HTTP_HOST is 0.0.0.0 or localhost, and logs a warning. A known placeholder secret still refuses to start:

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
