Is this song AI or human? Detect AI-generated music (Suno, Udio) from any AI agent.
Overview
Local MCP server that lets an assistant check whether a song, image or video was AI-generated, using the SongCheck detector API.
- What you can do
- Analyze an audio file and return a verdict, AI probability, confidence, provenance signals and generator hints
- Assess an image or video file for AI-generated content
- Audit a whole music folder and report which tracks are AI-generated
- Check the status of the SongCheck detection service
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to judge whether a track, image or video is AI-generated, or to sweep a music library for AI-made tracks, without leaving the chat.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local Python process: install the MCP SDK and requests, then register the script path in the agent's MCP config. Needs network access to the SongCheck API; the backend can be changed with SONGCHECK_API. Unlimited use and batch scans need a subscription API key set as SONGCHECK_KEY.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Songcheck Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
SongCheck MCP — AI music & media detection inside any AI agent
Detect AI-generated music (and images/video) straight from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or GitHub Copilot. Ask in plain language:
"Is this song AI-generated?" · "Analyze this file for AI content."
Powered by SongCheck (Khaled Media) — a self-hosted v9-ensemble detector. Free: https://khaledmedia.com/songcheck
Tools it exposes
detect_ai_music(file_path)— audio → verdict (LIKELY AI-GENERATED / UNCERTAIN / LIKELY HUMAN), AI probability %, confidence, provenance (Content Credentials / SynthID), generator hints.detect_ai_media(file_path)— image or video → AI-detection assessment.scan_catalog(folder_path)— audit an ENTIRE music folder, report which tracks are AI.songcheck_health()— service status.
Install (2 steps)
Then add it to your agent's MCP config:
Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json):
Restart the agent. Now ask: "Use SongCheck to tell me if ~/Downloads/track.mp3 is AI-generated."
Pricing
- Free: 5 checks/day. After that you'll get a "subscribe" message.
- Unlimited: subscribe at https://khaledmedia.com/songcheck — you receive an API key by email. Set it via
SONGCHECK_KEYin the configenv. - Batch / whole-catalog scans require a subscription key.
Notes
- Point at a different backend with
SONGCHECK_API(defaulthttps://agencrew.com/sc-api). - The detector is tuned for AI music; a bare synthetic-voice clip with no music may read low (AI-voice mode is on the roadmap).
- Privacy: the file is sent to the SongCheck API for analysis and not retained beyond the detection log.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
