Use this tool when a user wants to estimate the cost of shipping a car, SUV, minivan or electric vehicle, pickup truck (including Cybertruck and R1T), large SUV or van within the United States: interstate car shipping, auto transport, cross-country vehicle transport, or comparing open vs enclosed carrier prices. Inputs: pickup and delivery (city + state or ZIP), vehicle year, make, model, whether it runs, and open or enclosed preference. Returns the route, driving miles, open AND enclosed estimates side by side (or 'call for quote'), a recommendation, a 3-day pickup window, transit days and a link to request a callback. Prices are an estimated range, low end first; SUVs, large SUVs, minivans, vans and pickups use our own class carrier rates. Motorcycles, non-running and very high-value vehicles return 'call for quote' with no number. Estimates only, not binding; nothing is booked. Do not use for household moves (use get_long_distance_quote or get_international_quote), for shipping a vehicle to or from another country, for boats or RVs (motorcycles return 'call for quote'), or for routes outside the US.
