Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant build, update, preview, and publish complete applications on the Apper platform, including their database, security, and backend integrations.

What it does
The official Apper connector exposes tools for searching and creating apps, reading and writing project files, running and checking builds, and generating previews. It also manages the backend schema and row-level security policies, and works with edge functions, environment keys, and secrets. Everything runs against Apper, so no separate development stack is needed.
When to use it
Use it when you want an assistant to create or modify an Apper application end to end, from describing the app to previewing and publishing it. It suits users already on Apper who want app building, backend schema, and permissions handled through the assistant rather than a local toolchain.
Requirements
A remote streamable-http endpoint at mcp.apper.io; nothing to install or run locally. Authentication is OAuth 2.0, and the client opens a browser to sign in to Apper on the first call. An Apper account is required.
Before you install
The connector can write project files, change backend schema and row-level security policies, and handle environment keys and secrets. It can publish or delete apps, so confirm before those actions. Sign-in grants the assistant access to your Apper account through OAuth.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Apper MCP Connector in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apper-mcp": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.apper.io/v1/connect"
    }
  }
}

README

Apper MCP

The official Model Context Protocol connector for Apper.

Build and update complete applications in Apper from AI assistants. Describe what you want, then create, update, publish, and preview it — configure its database, security and permissions, and add server-side integrations, without setting up a separate development stack.

Connect

The connector is a remote MCP server. There is nothing to install or run locally.

https://mcp.apper.io/v1/connect

Transport is streamable-http, and authentication is OAuth 2.0 — your client opens a browser to sign in to Apper on the first call.

For any MCP client that takes a JSON config:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "apper": {      "type": "streamable-http",      "url": "https://mcp.apper.io/v1/connect"    }  }}

Client setup

Claude Code plugin

This repository also contains a Claude Code plugin that connects to the remote connector, so it can be added in one step rather than configured by hand.

See CLAUDE.md for the rules Claude follows when working with an Apper app — reading the instruction tools before generating, confirming before anything is published or deleted, and finishing the build before reporting success.

What you can do

The connector exposes tools for searching and creating apps, reading and writing project files, running and checking builds, generating previews, managing the backend schema and row-level security policies, and working with edge functions, environment keys, and secrets.

Full tool documentation lives at apper.io/learn/docs/mcp/apper-mcp-connector.

Registry

This server is published to the official MCP Registry as io.github.apperhq/apper-mcp.

Verify the current listing:

bash
curl "https://registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/v0.1/servers?search=apper-mcp"

The manifest is server.json. See RELEASING.md for how a new version is published.
