A local MCP server exposing 37 tools to read, search, create, edit, annotate, and optimize PDF files on the user's machine.

What you can do

Provides 37 PDF tools: extract per-page text, read metadata and form fields, full-text or regex search, and compare two PDFs. It can create PDFs from text or images, merge, split, rotate, delete, extract, reorder, insert, reverse, crop, and lay out pages N-up. It also adds watermarks, page numbers, headers/footers, stamps, signatures, highlights, shapes, and can fill forms, set metadata, decrypt, compress, validate, repair, and embed attachments.

When to use it

Useful when an assistant needs to work with local PDF files: pulling text out for summarization, searching or comparing documents, assembling or splitting files, stamping or numbering pages, filling forms, or cleaning up damaged PDFs. It is a general document-processing toolkit rather than a viewer or OCR service.

Requirements

Runs locally over stdio as the npm package pdf-suite-mcp, launched with npx or from a local clone. Requires Node.js 18 or newer and npm. No accounts, API keys, or environment variables are declared. Files are read from and written to local paths, so the assistant needs access to those paths.
