Budget-capped agent wallet: pay x402 services in tANE, a free testnet token with no cash value
Overview
A local MCP server giving an AI assistant a budget-capped agent wallet to pay x402 services in tANE, a free testnet token with no cash value.
- What you can do
- Provides a delegated agent wallet that can pay for x402-enabled services using tANE, a free testnet token.
- Reads the agent key and the vault address that defines the budget delegated to the agent.
- Includes an init step (run via npx) that sets up the wallet and its default key.
- No individual tools are listed in the manifest, so the exact operations are not documented here.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to try paying for x402 services on testnet without spending real money, under a budget delegated by a vault owner.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, started with npx from the npm package @16ane/mcp-server; desktop only, no web executable. Requires the environment variable ANE_VAULT_ADDRESS, and optionally ANE_AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY (by default the key created by the init command is used). No authentication is declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open 16ane sandbox wallet in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
