Overview

AI-generated overview

Searches the dfwmetro.net Dallas–Fort Worth directory of online-bookable service businesses and submits new business listings for review.

What you can do
  • Search the directory for service businesses, with each result labeled by verification status and ranked with verified ones first
  • Search strictly for verified businesses only, which have passed the directory's human verification desk
  • Submit a DFW service business to the directory, where accepted entries start as not yet verified and go through human review
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to find bookable home-service or other service businesses in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, or when an agent is submitting a local business to the directory on its behalf.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at dfwmetro.net, or the local stdio bridge package, which needs Node.js 18+ and has no dependencies. No authentication, API key, or secrets are required. The optional DFWMETRO_MCP_URL variable overrides the remote endpoint.
Before you install
Submitting a listing writes data to a public directory and is subject to human review; submissions must be genuinely online-bookable, and quote forms, contact forms, phone-only, and login-gated flows are rejected. The bridge forwards every call to dfwmetro.net's public API.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open dfwmetro.net directory in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.cexplayer01%2Fdfwmetro-directory/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

dfwmetro-mcp

A local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for dfwmetro.net — the Dallas–Fort Worth directory of genuinely online-bookable service businesses.

Give your AI agent three tools:

ToolWhat it does
find_listingsSearch the directory. Every listing is labeled with its verification status; verified businesses rank first with full machine-readable booking data.
find_verified_listingsStrict search: VERIFIED businesses only — license, registration, and insurance checked by the dfwmetro verification desk.
submit_listingSubmit a DFW business to the directory. It must be genuinely online-bookable (a real date/time scheduling flow — not a quote form, not phone-only). Accepted submissions start as NOT_YET_VERIFIED and pass human review.

Install in Claude / Cursor (and other MCP clients)

Two ways to connect — no auth, no API key either way:

Hosted endpoint — if your client supports remote (Streamable HTTP) servers, connect it straight to:

https://dfwmetro.net/mcp

It is also listed in the official MCP Registry as io.github.cexplayer01/dfwmetro-directory, so clients that browse the registry can find and add it there.

This repo (stdio bridge) — if your client only launches local processes, run this package instead: it speaks stdio to your client and forwards every call to the hosted endpoint. See Quick start below.

Why this exists

dfwmetro.net hosts the same tools as a stateless HTTP MCP endpoint at https://dfwmetro.net/mcp. Many MCP clients, though, launch a local process over stdio. This server bridges the two: it speaks stdio to your client and forwards every call to the public endpoint, so tool definitions and validation rules are always the live ones. No API key, no database, no secrets — it only ever talks to dfwmetro.net's public machine API.

Requires Node.js 18+. Zero dependencies.

Quick start

bash
node server.mjs

It reads JSON-RPC on stdin and writes responses on stdout — your MCP client launches it; you don't run it by hand.

Claude Desktop

Add to your claude_desktop_config.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "dfwmetro": {      "command": "node",      "args": ["/path/to/dfwmetro-mcp/server.mjs"]    }  }}

Any other MCP client

Point the client at node /path/to/dfwmetro-mcp/server.mjs as a stdio server.

Prefer the hosted endpoint?

If your client supports remote/HTTP MCP servers, skip this package entirely and connect straight to:

https://dfwmetro.net/mcp

Other machine surfaces on dfwmetro.net: GET /api/bridge/discover for discovery JSON, /llms.txt for the agent guide, and /.well-known/dfwmetro-agent.json for the agent registry entry.

Configuration

Env varDefaultMeaning
DFWMETRO_MCP_URLhttps://dfwmetro.net/mcpOverride the remote endpoint (testing only).

The listing rule

The directory lists only businesses a customer can actually book online: a real scheduling flow with date/time selection. Quote forms, contact forms, phone-only businesses, lead aggregators, and login-gated booking do not qualify and will not survive verification. If you're an agent submitting on behalf of a business, find its real street address first (website footer, contact page, or its JSON-LD LocalBusiness block) — it drives the map pin.

License

MIT — see LICENSE. The directory data itself is served by dfwmetro.net under the terms in its /llms.txt.

Tools

3

submit_listing

Submit a DFW service business to the dfwmetro.net verified directory. The business MUST be genuinely online-bookable: booking_url must point at a real scheduling flow (date/time picker or booking widget) — quote forms, contact forms, phone-only, and login-gated flows fail verification. You do not need to categorize it yourself: describe what the business does in 'description' and the trade is assigned automatically (send 'trade' only if you are sure of the category id). Find the business's real street address BEFORE submitting — check its website (footer/contact page) or the JSON-LD LocalBusiness block on its site or booking page — and send it as 'street_address': it drives the exact map pin. When the trade requires a state license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, personal & specialty services), also send 'license_number' (e.g. 'TACLA40925C', 'TECL 12345', 'M-12345') — the server pre-checks the format and the human desk verifies it against the state registry. You may also send 'starting_price_cents' (integer cents, e.g. 8500 = $85.00, shown publicly as 'from $X') and 'price_note' (short qualifier, e.g. 'per visit'). Accepted submissions start as NOT_YET_VERIFIED and pass human review before going live.

find_verified_listings

Find VERIFIED service businesses in the dfwmetro.net directory for booking. Only listings that passed human verification-desk review are returned — this tool can never surface unverified businesses and can never change verification status. Each result includes the business's booking_url plus machine-booking capability and endpoint health when known. Use booking_url for human-style booking flows; use capability endpoints only when present. Kept for backward compatibility; new integrations should prefer find_listings with verified_only:true.

find_listings

Find service businesses in the dfwmetro.net directory for booking. Returns every listing with its verification status labeled: VERIFIED businesses (human verification-desk reviewed) rank first and carry machine-booking capability and endpoint health; NOT_YET_VERIFIED businesses are clearly labeled, ranked by automated pre-check score, and carry machine_ready:false. Pass verified_only:true for the strict VERIFIED-only shelf. This tool can never change verification status.

Score

100% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
