Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote DOCX.now server that lets an assistant convert DOCX documents to and from PDF, TXT, HTML, ODT, JPG and RTF and track conversion jobs.

What you can do
  • Look up available converters and their slugs, such as docx-to-pdf, docx-to-txt, pdf-to-docx and odt-to-docx
  • Submit a publicly accessible document URL with a chosen converter and optionally wait for the result
  • Check the status of a conversion job and retrieve its temporary download link
  • Review the account's API credits, usage and rate limits
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to turn a DOCX file into PDF, TXT, HTML, ODT, JPG or RTF, or convert other documents back into DOCX, without running conversion software locally. It fits workflows where the source file already has a public URL and the result can be fetched from a temporary link.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at docx.now over streamable HTTP, with a DOCX.now API key supplied in the X-API-Key header. Source documents must be reachable at a public URL; no local runtime or packages are needed.
Before you install
The API key in the X-API-Key header is a secret and should be kept out of logs and shared transcripts. Conversions consume API credits, so check usage and rate limits. Documents are uploaded to a third-party service, and download links are temporary. Private-network URLs and URLs with embedded credentials are rejected.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open DOCX.now MCP Server in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect X-API-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.chrisyau83%2Fdocx-now/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
