Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for JPG.now that lets an assistant convert images and documents between formats and check conversion jobs and API usage.

What you can do
  • List available converters from the live JPG.now catalog, including slugs such as png-to-jpg, jpg-to-webp, pdf-to-jpg and compress-jpg
  • Submit a publicly accessible image or document URL to a chosen converter and optionally wait for the result
  • Check the status of a conversion job and get a temporary download URL once it completes
  • Read the caller's API credits, usage and rate limit
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to convert or compress images or turn PDFs into images as part of a workflow, without the user running local conversion tools. It fits tasks where the source file is already reachable at a public URL.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at jpg.now over streamable HTTP; no local package or runtime. A JPG.now API key supplied in the X-API-Key header. The source image or document must be publicly accessible over the network.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the X-API-Key header, so keep it out of shared logs and configs. Conversions consume API credits, and usage and rate limits are exposed through the usage tool. Submitted URLs are fetched by JPG.now, so files are sent to that third party; private-network URLs and URLs with embedded credentials are rejected. Download URLs returned for completed jobs are temporary.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open JPG.now MCP Server in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect X-API-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.chrisyau83%2Fjpg-now/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
