Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant convert MP4 and other media files through MP4.now's hosted conversion service.

What you can do
  • Browse the live converter catalog and find valid converter slugs such as mp4-to-mp3, mp4-to-webm or mov-to-mp4
  • Submit a publicly accessible media URL to a chosen converter and optionally wait for the result
  • Check a conversion job's status and get a temporary download URL when it completes
  • Review the caller's API credits, usage and rate limits
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to turn video or audio files into another format (MP3, WebM, GIF, WAV, JPG, MKV, MOV, AVI) without running conversion software locally, and you are comfortable sending media URLs to a hosted service.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at over streamable HTTP. An MP4.now API key supplied in the X-API-Key header. The media to convert must be reachable at a public URL; private-network URLs and URLs with embedded credentials are rejected.
Before you install
Requires an MP4.now API key, which is a billable credential; conversions consume API credits, so check usage and rate limits before bulk jobs. Media URLs are sent to a third-party service for download and conversion, and results are exposed as temporary download links. Only public URLs are accepted, and private-network addresses are blocked.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open MP4.now MCP Server in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect X-API-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.chrisyau83%2Fmp4-now/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
