Overview
Searches the Rock Regeneration gig guide for upcoming live music events across southern England, filtered by location, artist, venue or date.
- What you can do
- Search upcoming gigs in the Rock Regeneration guide, optionally filtered by town or city, with nearby towns included.
- Narrow results by artist or band name, using partial, case-insensitive matching.
- Narrow results by venue name, also partial and case-insensitive.
- Limit results to a date range with start and end dates in YYYY-MM-DD format; all filters are optional.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to look up live music listings in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, the Isle of Wight and nearby parts of southern England, for example to plan a night out or check where a band is playing.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local stdio process, launched with Docker from the published container image; Docker must be installed. No accounts, API keys or environment variables are declared. Network access is needed to reach the gig guide.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Rock Regeneration Gigs in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Publishing
Pushing a version tag does both halves of a release:
- The image is built and pushed to
ghcr.io/cuotos/rock-regeneration-gigs-mcp. - The server is published to the MCP Registry as
io.github.cuotos/rock-regeneration-gigs-mcp, using GitHub OIDC — no secrets needed.
server.json keeps a placeholder 0.0.0 version in git; CI rewrites it, and the image tag, from
the git tag at publish time.
The registry verifies ownership by pulling the image and reading its
io.modelcontextprotocol.server.name label, so the GHCR package must be public. It is private
on first push — make it public once, under the package settings on GitHub.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
