Botcall Mcp

Give your AI agent a real phone number for SMS verification codes.

Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that gives an AI assistant real phone numbers to receive SMS and extract verification codes through tool calls.

What you can do
Provision a new phone number, optionally with a preferred area code and country, and list or release numbers you hold. Wait for an incoming SMS and extract the verification code, or read recent messages in the inbox. Check the current plan, limits and usage stats.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to complete phone-based signups or SMS verification on your behalf, or when you want to check codes and messages arriving on numbers you rent through the service.
Requirements
Runs locally via npx (Node.js) over stdio. Requires a Botcall account and API key supplied in the BOTCALL_API_KEY environment variable; the API base URL can be overridden with BOTCALL_API_URL. Network access to the Botcall API is needed.
Before you install
Provisioning numbers and using the service likely incurs charges under your plan, so check limits with the usage tool. The API key is a secret placed in the client configuration. Releasing a number is destructive and may lose access to messages on it. Phone numbers and received SMS are handled by the third-party Botcall service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Botcall Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
