Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server giving an assistant short-selling data for EU and US stocks: net short positions, short sellers, trends and price history.

What you can do
Find companies by name, ticker symbol or ISIN and get their symbol or ISIN for further lookups. Retrieve all published short positions of one company, per holder, plus historic positions and a time series of total short percentage and holder count. List companies with the largest cumulative net short positions, split into EU registers and US FINRA short interest. See which companies' total net short position moved most over 7 or 28 days, up or down. Read the most recently published position changes, with increases and reductions distinguished. List a single short seller's current positions, largest first, and fetch a company's daily adjusted closing prices.
When to use it
Useful when you want to research short interest on European or US listed companies, track which short sellers hold positions, spot recent increases or reductions, or compare short positioning with price history. It suits market research and screening rather than trading execution.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the provider's endpoint is needed.
Before you install
The data comes from third-party public registers and FINRA and may be delayed, incomplete or reported with a lag; it is informational and not investment advice. The server is read-only, so no data is written or changed, but queries reveal which companies you look up to the remote provider.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Stock Short Selling & Short Interest Data in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.dell-mic%2Fshortselling-vanilla/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
