Region-typical random names for AI agents. Remote MCP + HTTP API, paid in USDC via x402.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that generates random, region-typical synthetic personal names and lists the supported regions.

What you can do
  • Generate random personal names typical of a chosen region, with optional count, gender and seed
  • List supported regions with their locale and name order
  • Return structured name records (given name, family names, gender, region, locale) marked as synthetic
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs plausible placeholder names for fiction, games, mockups, test data or seeded sample records that follow local naming conventions such as two surnames or family-name-first order.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no account, key or header is declared. The hosted server charges per request in USDC via x402, so a client able to sign x402 payments is needed for name generation; region listing and discovery files are free.
Before you install
Name generation on the paid remote server costs USDC per request and requires signing a crypto payment with a wallet; invalid requests are rejected before charging. Names are random combinations, not real people, and must not be used for impersonation, fake accounts or identity verification.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open namegen in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.diegouqz%2Fnamegen/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

namegen

Regiones: AR, BR, CN, DE, ES, FR, GB, IN, IT, JP, MX, NG, US (acepta alias como ARG, UK, USA).

  • /.well-known/ai-plugin.json: manifiesto estilo plugin (compatibilidad)

API

GET /v1/names?region=AR&count=3&gender=female&seed=abcGET /v1/regions
json
{  "schema": "namegen.v1", "region": "AR", "count": 1, "seed": null, "synthetic": true,  "results": [{"id": "…", "full_name": "Martina Acosta", "given_name": "Martina",               "family_names": ["Acosta"], "gender": "female", "region": "AR", "locale": "es-AR"}]}

Tools

2

generate_names

Generate random personal names typical of a country/region (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2). Output is synthetic: for fiction, placeholders and test data. Not for impersonation or identity verification. On the paid remote server this returns the price and the exact URL to pay via x402 (USDC); pay= sets a pay-what-you-want amount above the minimum.

list_regions

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
