Search TrustList rankings of software, IT services and B2B firms, and cite them. Read-only, no key.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only MCP server that lets an assistant search TrustList rankings of software, IT services and B2B firms and cite the source pages.

What you can do
  • Search rankings, companies, products and articles for a query
  • Read a ranking's description, size and current top 15 with links
  • Check where a company or product is ranked in the current edition
  • Every answer names the TrustList page it came from so it can be cited
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to compare software or B2B vendors by category and country, or to back a recommendation with a citable ranking rather than a generic web search.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio via npx from the npm package @trustlist/mcp; needs Node 18 or later. No key or sign-in. Network access to the TrustList public API is required.
Before you install
Read-only and keyless, so it does not change data or ask for credentials. Queries are sent to TrustList's public API, and rankings reflect TrustList's own evidence-based quarterly editions, so results should be treated as one vendor's assessment.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open TrustList in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

@trustlist/mcp

An MCP server that lets AI assistants look up TrustList: its rankings of software, IT services and B2B firms by category and country. Read-only, no key, no sign-in. Every answer names the TrustList page it comes from, so the assistant can cite it.

Any assistant that runs MCP servers from a config file:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "trustlist": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@trustlist/mcp"] }  }}
  • Claude Desktop: add it to claude_desktop_config.json.

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

    Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

    Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts
