Overview

AI-generated overview

Turns SOPs, policies and playbooks into source-grounded workflow diagrams as SVG, Mermaid, Excalidraw and a Studio link.

What you can do
  • Compile written procedures or raw operational text into a source-referenced workflow diagram with SVG, Mermaid, Excalidraw and a Studio deep link
  • Detect distinct candidate workflows in multi-section documents before compiling
  • Revise an existing workflow by node label, role or removal changes, or repair connectors and layout
  • Audit a workflow against its cited sources for unsupported claims and missing decision branches, then repair
  • Retrieve a stored workflow spec, SVG layout and Mermaid diagram by job or visual ID
  • Sign in by email one-time code or legacy password to obtain a bearer token
When to use it
Useful when you have reviewed written procedures, incident playbooks or policies and want a faithful, citation-backed flowchart you can edit or export, rather than a hand-drawn diagram. Also fits when you need to check that a diagram's steps are actually supported by the source text.
Requirements
Remote endpoint at unseendocs.in over streamable HTTP, or the npm package run locally with Node.js via npx. An account is needed for credits; sign-in uses an emailed one-time code or a legacy password. The README also lists OPENROUTER_API_KEY and an optional TYPESAFE_API_KEY for the local package.
Before you install
The login tools send a one-time code to an email address and return a bearer token that must be passed on later calls; treat that token as a credential. Compiling and enhancing send your document text to the Unseen service, and the local package can send it to OpenRouter when OPENROUTER_API_KEY is set. New accounts get a limited free credit allowance, so usage may be metered. Only reviewed written text is in scope; scans and images are not interpreted.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Unseen Workflow Compiler in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.eyeinthesky6%2Funseen-workflow-compiler/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Capabilities

The unseen-mcp server provides 3 primary tools:

  1. compile_workflow: Compiles raw text, SOPs, or multi-page documents into a structured, verifiable VisualSpec workflow graph, accompanied by production-ready SVG and Mermaid syntax.
    • Arguments: content (string, required), title (string, optional).
  2. revise_workflow: Applies focused revisions or node additions/modifications to an existing workflow graph while preserving citation integrity.
    • Arguments: visualSpec (object, required), instructions (string, required).
  3. get_workflow: Retrieves the full structured representation of an existing visual artifact by its ID.
    • Arguments: id (string, required).

1-Click Installation (Smithery)

If you use Smithery.ai:

bash
npx -y @smithery/cli install unseen-mcp --client claude

Or for Cursor:

bash
npx -y @smithery/cli install unseen-mcp --client cursor

Claude Desktop Configuration

Add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "unseen": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "unseen-mcp"],      "env": {        "OPENROUTER_API_KEY": "sk-or-v1-your-openrouter-key",        "TYPESAFE_API_KEY": "your-optional-typesafe-key"      }    }  }}

Cursor IDE Configuration

In Cursor Settings -> Features -> MCP:

  1. Click + Add New MCP Server.
  2. Name: unseen
  3. Type: command
  4. Command: npx -y unseen-mcp
  5. Add environment variables:
    • OPENROUTER_API_KEY: Your OpenRouter API key

Environment Variables

VariableDescriptionRequired?
OPENROUTER_API_KEYOpenRouter API key for LLM-assisted document compilationRecommended for rich natural language compilation (falls back to deterministic heuristics if absent)

compile_workflow

Compile Workflow Diagram

Turn supplied document evidence or raw operational text into a publication-ready workflow diagram with source references, clean vector SVG, Mermaid, Excalidraw scene, and interactive Studio deep link (`studioUrl`). INPUT SCOPE: Use reviewed written procedures only. Do not interpret scans, images, chart/diagram geometry or unlabeled arrows, and do not certify business procedures. Ask for reviewed written process text or source-backed clarification. HOW TO STRUCTURE TEXT INPUTS: Either pass `sources` (array of 1..60 verbatim chunks `{id, locator, excerpt}` where each excerpt is <= 2000 chars with exact numbers/actors/thresholds preserved) OR pass raw `text` and Unseen will automatically segment it into source chunks. EDITING GUIDANCE: For cosmetic/styling/annotation edits, edit the returned `<svg>` XML directly. For structural/topological edits (adding/removing nodes or rerouting branches), edit `spec` (VisualSpec JSON) and call `autofix_workflow` ($0 deterministic connector healing + fresh SVG/Mermaid/Excalidraw) or `revise_workflow`.

revise_workflow

Revise Workflow Diagram

Apply explicit node label/role changes or node removal using node IDs, or request connector autofix. For other changes, including new steps or edges, edit the returned spec with confirmed source evidence and call autofix_workflow. Unsupported instructions return an error; this tool does not perform general natural-language rewrites.

ParametersspecrequiredauthTokeninstructionrequiredadditionalSources

autofix_workflow

Autofix & Re-Render Workflow ($0 Free)

Deterministic connector healing and full visual re-rendering ($0 compute cost, instant, unlimited). Rescues orphan nodes, heals broken or missing decision branches, recomputes deterministic orthogonal layout, and returns fresh `spec`, `svg`, `mermaid`, `excalidraw`, and `studioUrl`. Use this tool after making direct structural edits to `VisualSpec` JSON (`nodes` / `edges`), or when a user asks to autofix connectors.

ParametersspecrequiredauthTokenorientation

enhance_workflow

AI Enhance Workflow (TypeSafe Jev Audit & Repair)

Bundled free semantic verification and repair powered by TypeSafe Jev. Audits the VisualSpec against its cited `sources[]` for unsupported claims, missing decision branches, and role accuracy, applies targeted repair if actionable issues are found, and returns the enhanced `spec`, `svg`, `mermaid`, `excalidraw`, `studioUrl`, and Jev quality metrics.

ParametersspecrequiredvisualIdauthToken

detect_workflows

Detect Candidate Workflows in Document

Discover distinct operational workflows from multi-section documents or raw text before compiling. Returns candidate workflows (`id`, `title`, `description`, `sourceIds`) audited by TypeSafe Jev.

ParameterstextsourcesauthToken

get_workflow

Get Compiled Workflow

Retrieve an existing VisualSpec workflow by jobId or visualId, returning the spec, SVG layout, and Mermaid diagram.

ParametersidrequiredauthToken

auth_request_otp

Request Agent & Human Login OTP (Email + OTP)

Step 1 of Agent & Human Login (Email + OTP): Sends a 6-digit Login OTP (`UNSEEN_LOGIN_OTP`) to the user's email address. This is a passwordless Login OTP (NOT a password reset). Once called, the agent can either read the 6-digit `UNSEEN_LOGIN_OTP` directly from the user's email (when the user has granted email access) or ask the user in chat for the 6-digit code, then call `auth_verify_otp`.

Parametersemailrequired

auth_verify_otp

Verify Agent & Human Login OTP

Step 2 of Agent & Human Login (Email + OTP): Verifies the 6-digit Login OTP sent to `email` and returns `{ token: 'utok_...', user }` (30 free credits / 3 visuals per month on new accounts). Pass the returned `token` as `Authorization: Bearer <token>` or in the `authToken` argument of subsequent MCP tool calls.

Parametersotprequiredemailrequired

auth_login

Sign In with Email + Password

Legacy sign-in for an existing password account. Account creation and password setup require verified browser sign-in. ChatGPT/Codex plugin connections use browser OAuth instead of this tool.
