Email validation and SMTP verification for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Claude Code.
Overview
BounceProtect is a local MCP server that lets an AI assistant validate email addresses and check SMTP deliverability through the BounceProtect service.
- What you can do
- Validate a single email address and get a validity result from the BounceProtect service, including SMTP verification where applicable. Validate a batch of up to 100 email addresses at once and report which ones are valid or should be removed. Check the remaining credit balance on the BounceProtect account.
- When to use it
- Useful when cleaning contact or mailing lists, checking addresses before sending campaigns, or having an assistant screen emails pasted into a conversation. It is a narrow single-purpose tool, so add it only if email validation is a recurring task.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process via the npm package @bounceprotect/mcp over stdio, so Node.js is needed. Requires a BounceProtect account and an API key supplied through the YOUR_API_KEY environment variable; the README shows a BOUNCEPROTECT_API_KEY variable in its config examples. Network access to the BounceProtect service is required. Desktop clients only.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Bounceprotect in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score
40% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
