Overview

AI-generated overview

Transcribes podcasts by name or RSS feed into text and SRT subtitles with speaker labels, via a hosted Apify MCP endpoint.

What it does
This remote MCP server exposes an Apify actor that turns podcast episodes into transcripts. It accepts a podcast name or RSS feed and returns text and SRT subtitle output with speaker labels. It is part of a larger family of Apify data tools served through the same MCP endpoint, and the README notes it can transcribe only new episodes of a feed.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs searchable or quotable podcast content, such as summarizing episodes, building notes, or producing subtitles. It fits workflows that already use Apify actors or an MCP client like Claude or Cursor.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at mcp.apify.com; no local package is declared. An Apify account and API token are needed, supplied as the APIFY_TOKEN environment variable in the documented examples. Network access is required, and usage is billed per result.
Before you install
The service is pay per result, so transcription consumes Apify credits and costs scale with audio minutes or items processed. The APIFY_TOKEN credential must be kept secret. Podcast audio and feed URLs are sent to Apify's cloud for processing, so consider whether that content is sensitive.
