Transcripts of the top YouTube videos for a keyword, with date, length and sort filters.
Overview
Fetches transcripts of top YouTube videos for a keyword, with filters for date, length and sort order.
- What you can do
- This remote MCP server exposes an Apify actor that searches YouTube for a keyword and returns transcripts of the top matching videos. Results include video date, length and transcript text, and can be narrowed with date, length and sort filters. It is part of a larger family of Apify data tools served through the same endpoint.
- When to use it
- Use it when an assistant needs to read or summarize what is said in YouTube videos on a topic, or to gather spoken content for research, monitoring or content analysis without manually opening each video.
- Requirements
- Runs as a remote streamable HTTP endpoint at An Apify account and an Apify API token are needed; the README shows setting the APIFY_TOKEN environment variable. Usage is pay-per-result, with Apify free-plan monthly credits available.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open YouTube Search Transcripts in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.fernandoguiraud16-coder%2Fyoutube-search-transcripts/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.
