H/Ai Browser
io.github.festuscharles-nv0.0.1Updated Oct 2, 2026
Let AI agents drive VS Code's built-in browser alongside you, with click-to-source.
Overview
Lets an AI agent drive the browser tab you share from VS Code's Integrated Browser, with snapshots, clicks, typing, screenshots and click-to-source.
- What it does
- This MCP server connects an MCP client such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI or Cline to the browser tab you share from VS Code's Integrated Browser. It exposes tools for page snapshots, clicking, typing, filling forms, managing tabs, taking screenshots, reading console and network logs, and returning the element you picked. The extension bundles the server and can configure supported clients for you.
- When to use it
- Use it when you want an assistant to inspect and operate a real browser page while you work in VS Code, for example to reproduce a UI issue, fill in a form, or check console and network activity. It is aimed at desktop VS Code users rather than headless or remote setups.
- Requirements
- A local Node.js runtime to run the npm package hai-browser-mcp over stdio, plus the H/Ai Browser extension running in VS Code with a browser tab shared. No accounts, API keys, environment variables or headers are declared. The extension can register the server for supported clients automatically.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open H/Ai Browser in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
hai-browser-mcp
MCP server for H/Ai Browser. It lets Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cline and other MCP clients drive the browser tab you share from VS Code's Integrated Browser: snapshots, clicks, typing, forms, tabs, screenshots, console and network logs, and the element you picked.
It needs the H/Ai Browser extension running in VS Code. The extension already bundles this server and sets it up for you (H/Ai: Connect Claude Code / H/Ai: Connect Other Agents). Use this package if you prefer to configure your client yourself:
