What you can do
A thin proxy that calls RankFabrik's existing REST APIs and returns their responses unchanged. Tools cover YouTube caption inspection, transcription, search and batch harvesting; business searches and area scans around a city or coordinates; job listings, full job details and company hiring profiles; and single or bulk email deliverability checks. Each tool maps to one REST call, and API errors come back as readable tool errors rather than session-breaking exceptions.
When to use it
Worth adding when an assistant needs YouTube transcripts, local business listings, job postings, or email deliverability checks without building its own integrations. It is a convenience wrapper, so it only makes sense if you already want RankFabrik's data and accept its per-call unit billing.
Requirements
Runs locally as an npm package via npx (Node.js required), stdio by default; MCP_TRANSPORT=http and PORT enable a Streamable HTTP endpoint. A required RankFabrik API key goes in RANKFABRIK_API_KEY; a free trial key with 500 units per month is offered. Optional variables set the key header name, the key URL, and per-product endpoint or key overrides. Network access to RankFabrik's APIs is needed.
Before you install
The RANKFABRIK_API_KEY secret is sent to RankFabrik's APIs and should be kept out of shared configs. Calls are billed in units against your key: transcription, business lookups, job listings and email verification each consume units, and batch tools can spend many at once. The server itself stores nothing, but all queries and submitted email addresses go to a third party.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open RankFabrik in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

RankFabrik — canal MCP

Les 4 APIs de données publiques de RankFabrik, exposées comme outils MCP pour les agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor…). Serveur mince : il ne collecte rien lui-même, il appelle les façades REST déjà en production et rend la réponse telle quelle — clés, quotas, comptage et facturation restent ceux de l'API existante.

Une clé, quatre produits. Prenez une clé d'essai gratuite (500 unités/mois, sans carte bancaire) sur rankfabrik.com/tarifs, puis renseignez-la dans RANKFABRIK_API_KEY. Si votre clé ne couvre pas encore un produit, l'outil concerné vous rend un message d'activation — jamais une erreur brute.

Surcharges avancées (optionnelles). Chaque produit vise son sous-domaine par défaut — captions / places / jobs / verify.rankfabrik.com. On peut surcharger cible et clé produit par produit : RANKFABRIK_<PRODUIT>_URL et RANKFABRIK_<PRODUIT>_KEY (ex. RANKFABRIK_PLACES_KEY). RANKFABRIK_BASE_URL reste accepté comme alias historique de la cible Captions.

Installer dans un client

Tous les clients de bureau lancent le serveur en stdio via npx — aucun clone nécessaire. Remplacez rf_xxx par votre clé.

Conception

  • Un outil = un appel REST. Aucune logique de collecte dupliquée.
  • Dégradation propre. Une clé qui ne couvre pas encore un produit (401/403) rend un message actionnable (« prenez une clé d'essai sur … ») plutôt qu'une erreur brute — le canal reste utilisable produit par produit.
  • Erreurs lisibles. Un rejet de l'API (paramètre manquant, quota épuisé, clé absente) revient comme résultat d'outil isError, que l'agent peut lire et corriger, jamais comme une exception qui coupe la session.
  • Dépendances isolées. Ce dossier porte le SDK MCP et zod ; le produit REST garde sa règle « zéro dépendance sauf undici ».
  • Facturation native. Chaque appel passe par l'API de production : le registre existant compte et facture, la clé de l'utilisateur circule dans sa propre configuration MCP et n'est jamais stockée ici.

Ce paquet est publié depuis le dépôt public finalburner/rankfabrik-mcp (canal MCP uniquement). Le moteur REST reste dans un dépôt privé séparé.
