Scan terms of service for risk. Returns 0-100 score, verdict, agent-friendliness, verbatim quotes.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant scan terms-of-service documents and get a 0-100 risk score, verdict, agent-friendliness rating and verbatim quotes.

What you can do
Fineprint exposes scan tools that analyze terms of service and return a risk assessment: a 0-100 score, a verdict, an agent-friendliness rating, and verbatim quotes from the source text. It runs locally as a stdio process and calls the Fineprint scan API. The manifest lists no individual tool names.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to check the terms of service of a service, site or API before signing up or integrating, and you want a summarized risk verdict with supporting quotes rather than reading the whole document.
Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process, distributed as a Docker image (ghcr.io/fineprintcorp/fineprint-mcp:1.0.1), so Docker is needed. Requires the FINEPRINT_API_KEY secret; a free trial key is available from the signup form on the Fineprint site. The optional FINEPRINT_API_URL sets the API base URL. Network access to the Fineprint API is required.
Before you install
The FINEPRINT_API_KEY secret is required and is sent to the Fineprint API; keep it out of logs and shared configuration. The documents or URLs you submit for scanning are sent to that third-party API, so avoid sending confidential terms or text you cannot share externally. The server is desktop-only and not available as a web executable.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Fineprint in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
