Overview

AI-generated overview

Estimates cross-border landed cost for B2C parcels — goods, shipping, customs duty and import VAT/GST — for the US, UK, EU, Japan, Korea, China, Australia…

What you can do
  • Estimate the total a buyer pays to import a parcel, broken down into goods, shipping, customs duty and import VAT/GST in the destination currency and the user's currency
  • Show what is collected at checkout, applicable exemptions, warnings and sources for a destination
  • Look up the import tax rules for one destination or all: currency, VAT/GST rate, de minimis thresholds and upcoming changes, with sources and last-checked dates
  • Apply de minimis rules in force on the import date, such as the EU €3 duty on parcels up to €150 from July 2026, the suspended US de minimis, and UK, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, Canada and Singapore thresholds
When to use it
Useful when quoting or checking what a customer will actually pay on a cross-border order, or when comparing import tax rules and de minimis thresholds across destinations before pricing or checkout decisions.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio via npx from the npm package @appmonster/mcp-landed-cost, so Node.js is needed; a hosted endpoint is also mentioned. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared. Exchange rates come from an external FX service unless a rate is supplied.
Before you install
Estimates only: customs uses its own rate and valuation, and carrier fees, excise and anti-dumping duties are excluded. Duty rates depend on HS code and origin and are not invented, so a duty rate must be supplied when known. Exchange rates are fetched from a third-party service unless passed in.

landed_costFull breakdown in destination currency and yours, what is collected at checkout, exemptions, warnings, sources
landed_cost_rulesThe rules and rates used, with the date they were last checked

Product duty rates depend on the HS code and origin (and US additional tariffs), so pass dutyRate when you know it — the tool never invents one and tells you when it is missing. FX: open.er-api.com mid-market (or pass fxRate). Estimates only: customs uses its own rate and valuation; carrier fees, excise and anti-dumping duties are not included.
