Manage Gumlet video, live streams, analytics, and workspaces from an MCP client.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Manage Gumlet video assets, playlists, profiles, webhooks and viewer analytics from an MCP client using your Gumlet API key.

What you can do
  • Create, update and delete video assets, including direct uploads, thumbnails, subtitles, audio tracks and chapters
  • Organize content with playlists, video profiles and image sources
  • Read viewer and usage analytics, including breakdowns, aggregated metrics and top streamed assets
  • Manage webhook listeners and inspect billing details for the organization
  • Look up official Gumlet SDK install commands and usage snippets
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to operate an existing Gumlet media account: ingesting and cleaning up videos, arranging playlists, checking delivery analytics, or wiring up webhooks without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at mcp.gumlet.com over streamable HTTP. Requires a Gumlet API key sent in the GUMLET_API_KEY header (or an Authorization Bearer token), created in the Gumlet dashboard under Developer, API keys. A workspace or collection id is needed for workspace-scoped tools.
Before you install
The key grants write access to the account: tools can create, update and delete assets, playlists, profiles and webhooks, and deleting an asset removes it from storage and breaks its URLs. Billing tools can read and update billing details. Uploads and subtitle or audio flows require follow-up PUT requests to pre-signed URLs. Keep the API key scoped and secret.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Gumlet in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect GUMLET_API_KEY credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.gumlet%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Parametersfiltersbreakdownsdate_rangeworkspace_id

insights_aggregated_data

This endpoint retrieves aggregated data of the given metrics.

Parametersfiltersaggregatetimeframeworkspace_id

list_sdks

List official Gumlet client SDKs so agents can discover them. Python: pip install gumlet (https://pypi.org/project/gumlet/). Node.js: npm install @gumlet/nodejs-sdk (https://www.npmjs.com/package/@gumlet/nodejs-sdk). Use this when the user wants to integrate Gumlet in application code. Do not use this to call the live Gumlet API; use the API tools instead.

Takes no parameters.

get_sdk

Get install commands and a usage snippet for an official Gumlet SDK. language=python returns pip install gumlet (https://pypi.org/project/gumlet/). language=nodejs returns npm install @gumlet/nodejs-sdk (https://www.npmjs.com/package/@gumlet/nodejs-sdk). Aliases: py, node, js, ts, javascript, typescript, npm, pypi.

create_asset

An asset refers to media content/video that is processed, stored, and delivered through Gumlet. This endpoint creates an asset allowing users to ingest media content into the Gumlet system for processing and delivery.

Parameterspadtagcroptriminputtitlewidthfolderformatheightmetadataaudio_only+15 more

create_asset_direct_upload

This endpoint creates a video asset allowing upload of a video from the local file system and ingest media content into the Gumlet system for processing and delivery. Body parameters are the same as the Create Asset body parameters except for the `input` parameter, which this endpoint does not take. A successful response will be returned with `upload_url` field. You can make `PUT` request to that URL to upload video. To upload video using `upload_url` refer to [this](https://docs.gumlet.com/docs/direct-upload#2-use-the-url-to-upload-a-file).

Parametersasset_idrequiredframe_at_second

thumbnail_upload

Use any image file to use as thumbnail. Once you use the API, you will get `upload_url` in the response, and that can be used to upload the image file. Here is the sample curl request. ```bash curl --location --request PUT '<upload_url>' \ --data '<YOUR_FILE_PATH>' ```

Parametersasset_IDrequired

upload_subtitles

Upload `.srt` or `.vtt` file to the video asset. The response of this API call gives `upload_url` for each language specified. You need to send a `PUT` request of the subtitle files to those URLs. Once that's done, you need to call the subtitle upload complete API. Only after that, Gumlet will add subtitles to asset.

Parametersasset_IDrequiredlanguage_codes

complete_subtitle_upload

This API must be called after adding subtitles; the add subtitle call gives you URLs to upload, and you complete a `PUT` request to those URLs. Once that is done, calling this initiates the process to actually add the subtitle to the video.

Parametersasset_IDrequiredupload_responses

asset_audio_upload

Add any audio file to the video asset. The response of this API call gives `upload_url` for each language specified. You need to send a `PUT` request of the audio files to those URLs. Once that's done, you need to call the audio upload complete API. Only after that will Gumlet add audio to the asset.

Parametersasset_IDrequiredlanguage_codes

complete_audio_upload

Finish adding audio tracks to an existing video asset. Call this only after the audio files have been PUT to the upload URLs from the add-audio call. This attaches those tracks to the asset.
