Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that lets an assistant search and retrieve agent instruction files — system prompts, skills, workflows and safety filters — from the AgentBae

What you can do
Search instruction files by keyword, domain or type, and list available categories and domains to see what the registry covers. Retrieve a specific instruction file by ID, and fetch featured or top-rated files. The files cover system prompts, skills, workflows, domain packs, safety filters and orchestration patterns, so an assistant can pull domain-specific instructions at runtime.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to load ready-made prompts, skills or workflows from a shared registry instead of writing them from scratch, or when teams want to pull the same instruction files across several agents.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio via npx from the npm package agentbase-mcp, so Node.js and network access to the registry's HTTP endpoints are needed. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared.
Before you install
The server retrieves third-party instruction files that may then be loaded into an agent's context; review a file before relying on it, since registry content is not controlled by you. Requests go to the registry's remote endpoints. The README's claims about listing and licensing are the author's own.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open OpenClaw Agent Instruction Registry in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

AgentBase MCP Server

[Listed on awesome-mcp-servers] [Glama Score]

MCP server for the AgentBase agent instruction registry. Gives any MCP-compatible AI agent direct access to search and retrieve instruction files.

Listed in punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers — 83k+ stars.

What It Does

AgentBase is an open registry of agent instruction files: system prompts, skills, workflows, domain packs, safety filters, and orchestration patterns. This MCP server wraps the registry's HTTP endpoints and exposes them as structured MCP tools.

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
