Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server for avideoai that lets an assistant turn a product photo into a short vertical video ad and check the result.

What you can do
  • Generate a short vertical video ad from a single product photo, choosing between the hailuo and veo models
  • Check the status of a generated video and retrieve a temporary MP4 link once it completes
  • Check the account's prepaid credit balance
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to produce short vertical product ad clips from a photo without leaving the chat, and to track the render until the video is ready.
Requirements
Runs as a local npm package over stdio, so Node.js is needed. Requires an avideoai API key supplied in the AVIDEOAI_API_KEY environment variable, plus a prepaid credit balance on the account. Network access to avideoai is required.
Before you install
Video generation spends prepaid credits: 2 credits for hailuo and 4 for veo, charged immediately and refunded automatically if the video fails. The API key is a secret passed via AVIDEOAI_API_KEY. Product photos are sent to the avideoai service, and returned video links expire after one hour.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Avideoai Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Tools

create_product_video

Create product video

Generate a short vertical video ad from a single product photo. Spends credits from the user's prepaid avideoai balance. Cost (charged immediately, refunded automatically if the video fails): - model "hailuo" (default): 2 credits, ~6 second clip. Good default for most products. - model "veo": 4 credits, ~8 second clip. Highest fidelity; use when the user asks for premium/hero quality. Typical wait: 1-3 minutes. This tool returns at once with a video id and status "queued" — it does NOT wait for the video. Call get_video_status with the id every 15-30 seconds until status is "completed" (then share video_url) or "failed". Requirements: image_url must be a public https URL of a JPEG or PNG under 10MB (a product photo, ideally on a plain background). If you are unsure the user can afford it, call check_credits first. At most 3 videos can be in progress at once per API key. Errors: "insufficient_credits" means the user must buy credits at https://www.avideoai.com/pricing — nothing was charged. "image_unreachable" means the image URL could not be downloaded or is not a JPEG/PNG. "concurrency_limit" means wait for an in-progress video to finish.

get_video_status

Get video status

Check a video created with create_product_video. Free (no credits). Statuses: "queued" and "processing" mean keep waiting — check again in 15-30 seconds (typical total time 1-3 minutes). "completed" includes video_url, a direct MP4 link valid for one hour (call this tool again for a fresh link). "failed" includes error and refunded (true means the credits were returned to the balance). "expired" means the file was deleted after the retention period.

check_credits

Check credit balance

Return the avideoai account's prepaid credit balance. Free. A "hailuo" video costs 2 credits and a "veo" video costs 4. If the balance is too low, the user can buy credits at https://www.avideoai.com/pricing.

Takes no parameters.
