Email infrastructure for AI agents. Create inboxes, send/receive email, and search messages.
Overview
Gives an AI assistant its own email address so it can create mailboxes, send and receive messages, and search an inbox.
- What you can do
- ClawAIMail provides email infrastructure for agents. Through the MCP server the assistant can call tools such as send_email, read_inbox, search_emails, and create_mailbox without extra code. The underlying service also offers a REST API, WebSocket streaming of email events, webhooks for incoming mail and delivery status, custom domains, and Node.js and Python SDKs.
- When to use it
- Use it when an agent needs to send or receive email on its own behalf, for example handling support or notification mail, monitoring an inbox, or searching messages as part of a workflow. It fits agentic setups where email is a first-class primitive rather than a one-off script.
- Requirements
- Runs locally as a stdio process, launched with npx from the npm package clawaimail-mcp, so Node.js and network access are needed. A ClawAIMail account and API key are required, supplied through the CLAWAIMAIL_API_KEY environment variable. Desktop-only; no web executable.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Clawaimail in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

MCP Server
ClawAIMail ships an MCP server so that Claude, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible clients can use email tools directly.
Claude Desktop
Add the following to your Claude Desktop MCP config (claude_desktop_config.json):
Cursor
Add to your .cursor/mcp.json:
Once configured, the agent can call tools like send_email, read_inbox, search_emails, and create_mailbox without any additional code.
Self-Hosting
ClawAIMail can be self-hosted for full control over your email infrastructure.
The server will be available at http://localhost:3000 by default. See the self-hosting docs for production deployment guides (Docker, Railway, Fly.io).

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
