Overview

AI-generated overview

Varosity exposes 61 video, image, voice and music generation models to an assistant, letting it create media, manage projects and render jobs at provider list…

What you can do
  • List models, voices and templates, and get a model suggestion from the Smart Router
  • Create, list and read projects, including projects started from a template
  • Generate video, voice and music, then check job status and render projects
  • List, create, test and delete webhooks
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to produce AI video, voice or music assets and track the resulting jobs without leaving the chat, or to wire generation into a project workflow with webhooks.
Requirements
Either the remote Streamable HTTP endpoint or the local npm package run through npx with Node.js. A Varosity API key (vsk_...) passed as VAROSITY_API_KEY or as an Authorization bearer header, or OAuth sign-in instead of a key. Network access to varosity.ai; VAROSITY_API_BASE can point at another deployment.
Before you install
Generation is billed at provider list price, so tool calls can spend money; the OAuth path is described as capped at $5/day. The API key is a secret and should be kept out of shared configs. Creating, rendering and deleting projects or webhooks changes data on the account, and prompts and media are sent to Varosity's servers.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Varosity in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.jonkludt%2Fvarosity/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

@varosity/mcp-server

Stdio MCP server for Varosity AI. Exposes every Varosity tool (generate video, voice, music, render, list models, list templates, webhooks, …) to any MCP-aware host — Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cowork, Continue, etc.

Under the hood it proxies every JSON-RPC call to ${VAROSITY_API_BASE}/api/mcp over HTTPS with your vsk_live_... bearer token. Zero runtime deps.

Claude Desktop

Edit ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "varosity": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "@varosity/mcp-server"],      "env": {        "VAROSITY_API_KEY": "vsk_live_..."      }    }  }}

Issue a vsk_live_... token at varosity.ai/app/keys/api-keys. Restart Claude Desktop.

Cursor / Cowork / Continue

Any MCP host that supports the command + args + env shape works. Point it at npx -y @varosity/mcp-server with VAROSITY_API_KEY in the env.

Tools exposed

Full list via tools/list. Current surface:

  • list_models, list_voices, list_templates
  • list_projects, create_project, get_project, create_project_from_template
  • generate_video, generate_voice, generate_music
  • suggest_model (Smart Router)
  • get_job, render_project
  • list_webhooks, create_webhook, test_webhook, delete_webhook

Alternative: direct HTTP

If your MCP host supports the Streamable HTTP transport, you can skip this package entirely:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "varosity": {      "url": "https://varosity.ai/api/mcp",      "transport": "streamable-http",      "headers": {        "Authorization": "Bearer vsk_live_..."      }    }  }}

This stdio package exists for hosts that only support the command-spawned stdio transport.

Self-host / point at a different deploy

Set VAROSITY_API_BASE in the env block to override the default https://varosity.ai.

Publish

bash
cd packages/mcp-serverpnpm buildnpm publish --access public

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
