Personal finance tracker: accounts, transactions, budgets, investments and analytics over OAuth.
Overview
Remote MCP server for MoneyMatter, a personal finance tracker, letting an assistant query accounts, transactions, budgets, investments and reports over OAuth.
- What you can do
- Ask questions about accounts, transactions, budgets, subscriptions, bills and loans
- Review investments, portfolios, venture deals and vehicles counted in net worth
- Pull reports such as cash flow, money flow, net worth history and pivot tables
- Work in one base currency with multi-currency totals and exchange rates
- Connected apps are listed and revocable under Settings → AI
- When to use it
- Useful when you keep your finances in MoneyMatter and want an assistant to answer questions the app's UI cannot, such as which subscriptions got more expensive this year or where you could realistically cut spending.
- Requirements
- A MoneyMatter account (cloud trial or paid plan, or a self-hosted instance with its own endpoint). OAuth sign-in with access level chosen on a consent screen. Network access to the remote endpoint.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open MoneyMatter in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.letehaha%2Fmoneymatter/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

MoneyMatter shows you where your money is and where it goes. Add accounts by hand or sync them from your bank, and it turns your transactions into balances, a dashboard and reports in one base currency. It goes beyond cash: investments, loans, vehicles and private deals are part of your net worth too. Any AI agent can work with your data over MCP.
[!TIP] MoneyMatter Cloud is the same app, hosted: a 40-day free trial, no card required. Self-hosting is free and every feature is enabled.
Contents
Features
- Accounts in any currency, manual or synced from your bank through Monobank, SimpleFIN, LunchFlow and Walutomat
- Transactions with categories, payees, tags, splits, attachments, transfers and refunds, and automation rules for new ones
- Budgets, subscriptions and bills with reminders, and loans with a payoff projection
- Investments: portfolios of stocks, ETFs and crypto with daily prices, plus venture deals and vehicles, all counted in your net worth

- Sharing: share an account or tracker with someone, or give a household member access to all your accounts
- Security: sign in with email, Google, GitHub or passkeys, credentials encrypted at rest, and your data exportable or deletable at any time
- Everywhere: light and dark theme, a layout that works on your phone, and English, Ukrainian, Spanish, Indonesian and Russian
Get started
Try it. The Try demo button on moneymatter.app opens a ready-made account with sample data. No sign-up required, and it expires after four hours.
Self-host. The stack pulls published Docker images (amd64 and arm64) and exposes the whole app on one port, so you can put it behind whatever reverse proxy you already run, or use the optional Traefik + Let's Encrypt overlay.
Open http://<host>:8080. The self-hosting guide covers the full setup, reverse-proxy recipes, every environment variable and troubleshooting.
Cloud. Sign up for a 40-day free trial with no card. Paid plans start at $30 a year. See plans and billing for details. You can move between cloud and self-hosted in either direction with a backup export and restore.
Connect an AI agent
MoneyMatter exposes a remote MCP server. Add the endpoint to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client, pick the access level on the consent screen, and ask questions the UI can't answer: "Which of my subscriptions got more expensive this year?" or "Where can I realistically cut $500 a month?"
A self-hosted instance serves its own endpoint. See MCP_BASE_URL in the environment reference. Connected apps are listed and revocable under Settings → AI.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
