Search French events and things to do, built for AI agents — geo, city, date, category filters.
Overview
Lets an assistant search French events and things to do by location, city, date, and category through the API Sorties France service.
- What you can do
- This local MCP server connects an assistant to the API Sorties France service for discovering events and activities in France. It supports searching by geography, city, date, and category filters, so an assistant can answer questions about what is happening in a given place or time. The manifest does not list individual tool names, so the exact tool surface is not documented here.
- When to use it
- Worth adding when you want an assistant to look up French events, outings, or things to do and filter them by place, date, or category. It is aimed at agent-driven event discovery rather than general web search.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process on the user's machine via the npm package api-sorties-mcp over stdio, so Node.js is needed. It requires an API key in the environment variable API_SORTIES_API_KEY, created from the provider's developer portal, and a base URL in API_SORTIES_BASE_URL. Network access to the API Sorties France service is required. Desktop only.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Api Sorties Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
