MCP server for Crunchyroll anime streaming - search anime, manage watchlist, track viewing progress
Overview
Lets an assistant search Crunchyroll anime, manage a watchlist, and track viewing progress through a logged-in account.
- What you can do
- Connects an AI assistant to a personal Crunchyroll account through the Crunchyroll web API. Tools cover searching and browsing anime by genre, popularity, season, or simulcast tag; reading series, season, and episode details; viewing and editing the watchlist; reading watch history and playhead positions and updating them; getting personalized and similar-title recommendations; and checking subscription tier and renewal date. Login is handled by a dedicated tool that stores tokens locally.
- When to use it
- Useful when someone wants an assistant to answer questions about their own Crunchyroll library, such as what to watch next, where they left off in a series, what is airing this season, or when their subscription renews, and to make watchlist changes on their behalf.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio, typically via npx or a global npm install, so Node.js is needed. A Crunchyroll account is required; the user logs in once with email and password through the login tool, and tokens are saved under the user's home directory and refreshed automatically. Desktop-only; no environment variables or headers are declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Crunchyroll in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
