Compare cloned repositories against taxonomy packs: one code graph, cited claims, a matrix. Local.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Parses many cloned repositories into one local SQLite code graph and scores each clone against a feature taxonomy with cited verdicts.

What you can do
CompareGraph indexes cloned repositories into a single SQLite graph and compares them against a taxonomy pack (a family of features), producing a per-clone, per-feature verdict of has, partial or none with a citation to a file and line range. It exposes eighteen MCP tools over stdio, seventeen read-only and one write tool for recording claims, plus a matrix view of features against clones, ranked candidate mapping, and an Obsidian-style vault export. The engine is deterministic, runs entirely locally, and never calls a model.
When to use it
Useful when you have several repositories and one question: which of them has a given feature. Suited to teams comparing their product with the field, due diligence over a set of projects, or mapping an unfamiliar field, and to coding agents that need compact, citable facts about code rather than prose summaries.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine (desktop only). One Rust binary; no runtime needed, though Node 18+ is required for the npm route and Rust 1.85+ to build from source. Installed via install script, npm, Homebrew, or cargo. No accounts, API keys, or environment variables are declared; settings use --root and COMPAREGRAPH_* variables. The engine makes no network call.
Before you install
The MCP server includes one write tool, comparegraph_claim, which records claims; claims and decisions are append-only, so a change adds a new row rather than deleting the old one. The setup command writes MCP entries, a rules block, and a Claude Code session-start hook into agent configuration files, leaving backups. Clones are read, never executed. An external provider executable can be registered and runs only with --allow-unverified when it lacks a manifest.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open CompareGraph in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score

25% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
