Google Drive integration with file operations, folder navigation, search, and sharing

Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that connects an assistant to Google Drive for searching, browsing, uploading, moving and trashing files and folders across linked accounts.

What you can do
Search files and folders, with selectable fields and optional path resolution, and list the contents of a folder or its full path to the root. Create folders and upload files from a file or web address, returning IDs for later steps. Move files and folders between locations, or send them to the trash where they stay recoverable for 30 days. List, inspect, switch between and remove linked accounts, with removal deleting stored tokens.
When to use it
Use it when you want an assistant to work with documents already in Google Drive: finding files, tidying folder structure, uploading new material, or managing several Drive accounts from one session.
Requirements
Runs locally via npx (Node.js). Needs Google OAuth credentials: GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID is required, and GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET for confidential clients; alternatively a service account key file via GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_KEY_FILE. Several optional variables configure auth mode, HTTP transport, redirect URI, port and logging. Desktop only, with a browser for the OAuth flow unless headless mode is set.
Before you install
The server stores Google account tokens on your machine, and removing an account deletes them permanently. It can move files and send them to the trash, which changes your Drive contents. Uploads read from a local file path or a web address you supply, so point it only at sources you trust. The OAuth client secret and any service account key file are sensitive credentials; keep them out of shared configuration.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Google Drive in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
