Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for Mini Course Generator that lets an assistant build, publish and theme micro-courses, quizzes and lessons, and read learner analytics.

What you can do
Create and update courses, modules, sections and lessons, including quizzes and interactive blocks, and publish or unpublish them as drafts or live content. Import images, audio, video and SCORM 1.2 packages into lessons and set layout, typography and colours. Read course and module analytics, learner progress, finishers and per-question answers. Check which account is connected and fetch the course authoring guide before building.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to turn existing material into a structured micro-course with quizzes, publish it, and then review how learners performed and refine weak questions or lessons.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install or API key. Requires a Mini Course Generator account and OAuth 2.1 sign-in. Clients that only support stdio need the mcp-remote bridge via npx, which requires Node.js.
Before you install
Many tools are marked destructive, including deleting modules, sections, lessons and SCORM packages, unpublishing content, replacing lesson content and discarding unpublished edits; most clients ask for confirmation. The assistant acts with your account's permissions and can publish content publicly. Learner records and per-question answers are readable through the server.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Mini Course Generator in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.minicoursegenerator%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Mini Course Generator MCP Server

Build, publish and track interactive micro-courses from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.

Mini Course Generator is an AI course builder and LMS used by over 20,000 training providers. This remote MCP server lets your AI assistant create real courses (structured lessons, quizzes and interactive blocks like flip cards, hotspot images and accordions), publish them, and read how learners are doing.

  • Endpoint: https://mcp.minicoursegenerator.com
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP (remote, hosted)
  • Auth: OAuth 2.1 (sign in with your Mini Course Generator account, no API key needed)
  • Website: https://minicoursegenerator.com/mcp/
  • Also available as: an official app in the ChatGPT apps directory

This repository documents the hosted server for MCP directories. The server itself is closed source and runs on Mini Course Generator's infrastructure.

What you can do

  • Turn existing knowledge into a course. Ask your assistant to read Confluence, Notion, Slack or Google Drive and build a multi-section course with a quiz after every section.
  • Build in one prompt. Create a course, its landing page, modules, sections and lessons (info pages and quizzes) from a single description.
  • Add media. Import images, audio and video, or host SCORM 1.2 packages inside a lesson.
  • Publish and theme. Publish whole modules or single lessons, and set layout, fonts and colours.
  • Run the course afterwards. Read analytics, learner progress, finishers and per-question answers, then fix the questions everyone gets right or the lessons that confuse people.
