Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only MCP access to Average Rent's tracked US apartment asking rents, market statistics, price cuts and listing details.

What you can do
  • List tracked cities with sample counts, observation dates and source links
  • Read city asking-rent statistics, bedroom breakdowns and national or state comparisons
  • Search verified apartment listings by city, state, ZIP or property name, and read one building's unit prices, fees and concessions
  • Read daily asking-rent history for a city or a property, and recent price cuts in a city
  • Check the signed-in account's plan, data-use license, call allowance and usage
When to use it
Useful when someone wants to compare US apartment asking rents, look up a specific building or city trend, or check recent rent reductions, with sources and observation dates cited. Not a source of live availability or of all US rentals.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at average-rent.com; no package or local runtime. Sign-in with an Average Rent account is required, and the account's plan governs the shared data call allowance.
Before you install
Free access is limited to noncommercial use; commercial use must be checked against the account's data license and may be disallowed. Statistics describe only the tracked sample, and price cuts do not guarantee current availability. Separate private negotiation tools require their own OAuth and campaign consent, and agents cannot approve sends or bind the renter.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Average Rent in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.miningstore%2Faverage-rent/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
