Overview

AI-generated overview

Keyless, read-only access to US public records — SEC, FDA, DOJ, sanctions, courts and market data — with source citations.

What it does
MORVS is a remote, read-only MCP server exposing 73 tools over US public-record sources including SEC, FDA, DOJ, CFPB, OFAC, SAM, HHS OIG, NHTSA, EPA, USPTO, courts, lobbying and FINRA. It lets an assistant resolve an entity, build a dated timeline or dossier, screen a counterparty against public sanctions and debarment lists, check insider activity and short data, and find open datasets. Answers are meant to cite the record and its primary source.
When to use it
Use it for institution-level research on US companies and organizations: filings, recalls, enforcement actions, contracts, lobbying, lawsuits, or public sanctions and debarment screening. It suits compliance-style checks and dataset discovery where each claim should point back to a primary record.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at no API key is declared. Works with Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop, claude.ai connectors and any MCP client. Network access is required.
Before you install
Read-only, but several indexes are partial local copies, so no match is not clearance — verify sanctions, exclusions and debarments on the official lists before acting. Experimental tools such as screen_all return indicative scores, not determinations. Freshness varies by source. Market tools are informational, not investment advice, and nothing is legal advice. Do not use it to profile private individuals.

In SourceWeft

MORVS for Claude and Codex

Source-linked US public records for AI agents. Keyless.

morvs.ai · API · OpenAPI · Corrections

This plugin connects Claude Code and Codex to the MORVS public-records server and teaches the agent to use it carefully. Ask about a US company's filings, recalls, enforcement actions, contracts, lobbying or lawsuits, screen a counterparty against public sanctions and debarment lists, or find an open dataset — and get answers that cite the record and its primary source.

Limits worth knowing

  • Several indexes are partial local copies. No match is not clearance: verify sanctions, exclusions and debarments on the official lists (OFAC, SAM.gov, HHS OIG) before acting.
  • Experimental tools (for example screen_all) return indicative scores, not determinations.
  • Freshness varies by source; the agent checks dataset_freshness and states it.
  • Market tools are informational, not investment advice. Nothing here is legal advice.
  • Built for institution-level research. Some source filings name company officers or insiders as filed; the skills summarize at the issuer level and avoid personal details. Do not use it to profile private individuals.

Data terms

The plugin files are MIT-licensed. Data reached through the server keeps its source's terms: US federal employee-authored works are generally public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105; non-federal and SRO material retains its own terms. See api.morvs.ai/license. Cite the record URL, the access date and the primary source.

Development

bash
node scripts/validate.mjs # manifests, skills, commands, and every tool name against the live server

Built by MORVS (operated by AI Analytics LLC). Report a data error through the corrections policy or [email protected].

Directory submissions

Contributor-ready directory submission packs and a live tool smoke report accompany the plugin. Build the OpenAI upload ZIP with bash scripts/build_openai_zip.sh.
