Live air quality index and pollutant levels for any location. No key required.
Overview
A local MCP server that gives an assistant live air quality index and pollutant levels for any location, with no API key required.
- What you can do
- Retrieves the current air quality index for a location the user names, so the assistant can report how clean or polluted the air is there. Reports pollutant levels alongside the index, giving a breakdown of what is driving the reading. Works for any location, so it can be used for a home city, a travel destination or a place being compared against another.
- When to use it
- Useful when someone asks how the air is in a city, whether conditions are healthy for outdoor activity, or wants to compare air quality between places. A lightweight addition for everyday questions about pollution rather than a full environmental data platform.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the npm package air-quality-mcp over stdio, so Node.js and npm are needed. No API key, environment variables or headers are declared. Desktop only; it is not offered as a web-executable server. Network access is implied by live data but not stated.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Air Quality Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients

Score
25% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
