Use this MCP server to Audius, underground and independent music: trending tracks, artists,...
Overview
Local MCP server that lets an assistant browse Audius, the decentralized streaming platform, for trending tracks, track and artist search, and artist catalogs.
- What you can do
- List trending tracks, optionally filtered by exact genre names such as Hip-Hop/Rap or Electronic
- Search tracks by keyword
- Search artists by name or handle
- List the tracks a given artist has uploaded
- Results include play counts, durations, genres and Audius permalinks
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to discover underground and independent music on Audius, check what is trending in a genre, or look up an artist's catalog and track links.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package audius-mcp and started with Node.js. No account, API key, environment variable or header is declared; it uses Audius's public discovery API.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Audius Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
