Bored API activity suggestions: random activities, filter by type and participants.
Overview
Lets an assistant fetch random activity suggestions from the Bored API, optionally filtered by activity type and number of participants.
- What you can do
- This local MCP server exposes the Bored API, which returns suggestions for things to do when bored. Based on the registry description, it supports retrieving random activities and filtering them by type and by participant count. No individual tool names or parameters are documented in the supplied material.
- When to use it
- Worth adding when an assistant should suggest leisure activities, break ideas, or group pastimes, and you want those suggestions to come from a live activity API rather than the model's own knowledge.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package bored-mcp, so Node.js and npm are needed. No authentication, environment variables, or headers are declared. Network access is implied because the suggestions come from an external API.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Bored Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Score
25% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
