Use this MCP server to 4chan, board catalogs, threads, and posts from the raw internet culture...
Overview
Local MCP server that lets an assistant browse 4chan boards, board catalogs and thread posts through the public read-only JSON API.
- What you can do
- List all 4chan boards, split into SFW and NSFW
- Fetch a board's live catalog of threads, sorted by reply count
- Read the posts inside a specific thread, with post HTML flattened to readable text and image filenames included
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to look up 4chan board structure, current threads or the contents of a discussion without opening a browser. Suited to research on internet culture and imageboard content rather than to posting or moderation.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package fourchan-mcp and started with a build step and node. Needs network access to the public 4chan JSON API; no account, API key or environment variable is declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Fourchan Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
