Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that lets an assistant shorten and expand URLs using the public is.gd service, with no API key required.

What you can do
Shorten a long URL into a short is.gd link through the public service. Expand an existing short link back to its original destination. Both actions rely on the is.gd public service rather than a private account.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to create shareable short links or resolve where a short link points, without signing up for a link-management account.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the npm package link-shortener-mcp over stdio. Node.js is needed for the npm package. No API key, environment variables or headers are declared, but network access to the is.gd public service is required.
Before you install
Every URL you shorten or expand is sent to the third-party is.gd public service, so avoid confidential or internal links. Shortened links are public and may be subject to the service's own retention and abuse policies.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
